I noticed that the newsgroup archive (which search function relies on via Google) hasn't been updated since last month.  Does something need a kick?

It's frustrating not to be able to search through the last several weeks of messages.

This is not what you want to hear :), but Claws Mail has a complicated, but powerful search function that you can use to search backwards through the last posts. It will fetch missing message bodies on the go. Anyway it is an alternative.
