The following new newsgroups have been created:
c++.dos.16-bits
c++.dos.32-bits
c++.windows.16-bits
c++.windows.32-bits

I hope we all will post our messages as much as possible to the appropriate groups. I think the names are explanatory enough, if not, let me know! <g>

Also, if you have idea's or suggestions for other newsgroups let me know as I rather create new newsgroups in advance than afterwards.

It it possible to have a 'garbage' news group where all the new message
arrive ?
So a incoming message will be classed it its newsgroup and be copied in
the 'garbage' one as well.
Perhaps Netscape can do that but i don't know how to do it.

Never thought of that...
Of course we could leave it up to the visitor to 'cross post', but that
requires a certain discipline which might not work out too well.
I will check into the other option.

Hello !

The goal is to be aware of all is incoming on the newsgroup witout having to
go on all the newsgroup.
I think the 'garbage' newsgroup must be read only and contain only links to
real messages.
It is just a suggestion if it is easy to do, i don't know.
Anyway, without such links, there should be not too much newsgroup.

Well, you mean Netscape does not show you all the groups in bold that have new messages?

Otherwise people might not see the forest any more because of the trees as they
say in Dutch!

Netscape's news client has a bug which prevents me from viewing messages in any group with a short name.

Unfortunately, c++ and c++.dos are unavailable to me :-(.

I use 4.77 without any problems.

I use 4.08. Please let me know if you hear of a fix for it. I am using the newest version available to me.


BTW,
NS users might want to add this to your prefs.js file:
user_pref("mailnews.reply_on_top", 0);

Do this when Netscape is not running. Doesn't matter where,
NS will sort it out when it starts. It is improper and
extremely difficult to follow discussions when people post
responses _before_ the original message.

That's won't help you a lot! <g>
May be you should install Linux/FreeBSD and run one of the clients on
those platforms!

Sorry, I do not know about any newer version for Windows 3.11... I guess the version you are running now is a Win32s version?
