That's going to skew things though, because of ISPs like AOL.  One post can be from one IP, and another from a completely other one.  And, more, AOL is very popular in America - it's possible that the number for America is much higher than it should be.

Often it is, and even on DSL this happens.  It is caused by ISPs that use DHCP (dynamically assigned IP addresses) which is virtually all of them.  Usually you have to pay extra to get what is called a "static" IP - one that does not change.

My IP, as an example, changes about every three days.  If I were to change my router from keep alive to "when needed", it would probably change every few hours.

I was born in Yallourn, what a hole!  It's now an open cut mine about 5x8 kilometers in size.  Destined to be a very large swimming pool, unless they level a mountain to fill it again.
