I would use it for both as I do in other languages... except Java but you can't overload operators in Java now can you?

I don't know, it seems that everyone is walking around in circles trying to find the way out. Maybe you can like, make a function or something and call it 'exists'. Perhaps I'm missing the point and don't understand fully what goes into Hashes but having used them from Perl, I can say that it seems kind of strange. I've also used AA from in PHP and this is what I would to test if there is a value. I would use a foreach loop to get the key, value pair.

I need to buy your damn book to see what you're talking about. Seems interesting but seeing as it is a Computer book it would probably cost an arm and a leg.

He he. I think it's going to be around US$45 (The cover thinks so, anyway: http://synesis.com.au/publishing/imperfect/cpp/impcpp_cover.png)

You plug your book well (damn you :) ) but $45 dollars is a little more than I'm willing to spend for a book that will most likely sit on my shelf until the second edition comes out and the errata has been fixed and added. That isn't to say I'm not going to buy it as there is a 90% chance I will.

You can get freebies. All you've got to do is get a contract for writing with Addison-Wesley. LOL!
