Russ has promised to test this on Linux, since I'm D-Linux challenged at the moment.

FTR, I've tested the linux code path on Windows, by commenting out the version info, and it all works there, so I've a reasonably high confidence that it should work fine.

If anyone else wants to test and give me feedback, that'd be good.
