The next version of Java (code name "Mustang") will feature native GTK components for the Swing API. Some of you might find it interesting. For more info: https://mustang.dev.java.net/ For screenshots. http://ensode.net/java_swing_mustang_screenshots_gtk.html Zz |

To kill completely that Swing or what? It seems like Sun is not interested in Java UI at all. (And indeed, how to make money from it?) Example: my Java VM http://www.terrainformatica.com/org/j-smile/index.htm starts and runs typical UI times faster than anything coming in UI area from the Sun. And I am not doing anything spectacular there - direct interpretation of bytecodes using one dumb switch statement. Andrew Fedoniouk. http://terrainformatica.com |

No. The reality is that there will be no "native GTK components" in Swing, it's simply that Swing is now honoring the currently selected GTK theme. Ciao |
