As a non-windows user, I've never been able to try VisualD.

Not knowing basically anything about the internal interactions between VisualD and Visual Studios... would a version of VisualD on Visual Studio Code be a possibility?

Visual Studio Code is free and cross platform. I'm not sure if it's missing any big features that VisualD uses in Visual Studios though. So far I've only seen a few news stories about it and the quick video on their site.

I just wanted to throw this out there for consideration. In my opinion, it'd be great if the official IDE (at least VisualD seems official to me?) was available cross platform.

Visual Studio Code is based on Github's Atom editor, and is written in Javascript. So it's not compatible with VisualD.

Yup, that's not an option then. Sorry I hadn't really looked into it much.

I'll probably add atom on my list of things to re-evaluate though if they are able to do that much with it.
