I went to buy early bird tickets for the D conference through Kickstarter.  However, I they only allow payments through Amazon which I refuse to use.  Is there any way to sign up at the $250 dollar level without going through Amazon?

Unfortunately, that's how kickstarter works. The only other way would be to like send Andrei a check, and he could post to kickstarter on your behalf. Sending Digital Mars a check won't work, as kickstarter won't let the project originator pledge to his own project.
