I agree. I think a good place to start would be to separate Announcements into official announcements (new D version, new DIP approved, new team members) and ecosystem announcements (new library version, new tutorial series, new website about D).

Another section that I'd love to see is something like "What are people working on" or "Projects under development". A place where people share their WIP projects they're working on. Right now there's no place for such projects. Learn doesn't fit it, Announcements is for finished projects and General is more for language discussions. I think it would be great for the community to be able to see what others are using D for and be able to comment on that. Remember dsource? http://dsource.org/projects/ Look how many exciting projects there were. Sure, most of them didn't go anywhere, but it was nice to see what people are trying to do. Same for dsource forums - http://dsource.org/forums/ so much fun activity and discussion of projects.
