I think that's incorrect.

A simple thought: if you have graphics talents and inclination there's a TON of opportunity to apply them all over dlang.org and dconf.org. Cue my desperate attempts for a good DConf logo and general look. Ironically the only untouchable part is the logo. ("The one door you shouln't open...")

Have at it. Just leave the logo alone.

I think it's better to create logos for community events (like the latest DConf logo). Just for the record the upcoming "D Hackathon" needs more marketing. It would be good to attract some people from the outside.
