A recent posting comparing programming languages and there energy efficiency:

What language that can be in the top is missing? Only one guess needed.

Its not hard to figure out without going to the description, that the author used benchmarksgame.alioth.debian.org for all the code. A benchmark test where D is missing for years.

And it being referred into other projects for there tests. Those same projects that draw publicity. D missing in that benchmark is a clear issue because its free publicity that keeps getting lost.
