I rely a lot on such constants for SSE:

    align(16) static immutable short[8] A = [ 1, 1, 1, 1, 3, 3, 3, 3 ];

Does such alignment actually work on all OS, at all times?
Word on the street says align() doesn't work with globals.

Should work with LDC (part of our testsuite).
