| FYI: I am going to stop maintaining Arch Linux D packages and DIP repository, as well as any direct involvement with D development apart from the stuff required for my job. The reason is simply that amount of disagreement with upstream course of actions has reached the point where I can't sincerely support or represent it in any way - same as it has happened with Phobos before. If someone is willing to take over any of the important bits, please contact me. |

I'm sorry to learn this. I hope things become less tense moving forward.

Thanks for your work, and good luck with future endeavors.
Could you please share whether you are rescinding DIP management? In that case we'll need to name someone else.
Thanks,
Andrei

I will most likely keep contributing to Sociomantic authored DIPs but not managing/editing. > Thanks, > > Andrei |

Finding a replacement there might be easier if you mention this on the main newsgroup. Hopefully there's someone who's already a Trusted User (or whatever else you need) who can take over. It seems like a lot of effort to contribute packages to the arch repos (compared to e.g. homebrew, where I just make a pull request with my build instruction ("Formula") changes and everything else is taken case of automatically).

Yes, was asked the same on Arch Linux mail list. Done now: http://forum.dlang.org/post/o6sldo$1pad$1@digitalmars.com |
