January 28, 2002 Can I use SC++ IDDE with DMC++? | ||||

I have SC++ 7.2, and have been trying to get it's Win95 IDDE to use the DMC++ compiler to no avail. I've seen that others are using the old IDDE. What is the correct order for installation? What do I have to copy over what to replace the old compiler components with DMC++? Trevor Johns |

Posted in reply to Trevor Johns | These others (as myself) use the 7.5 IDDE...
The IDDE (7.5) comes on the CD-ROM...

I see...has SC++ changed enough that it CAN'T work with 7.21? Does the IDDE use special DLL components or such to do it's compiling, or does it use the command line utilities? Obviously if there's a COMPILER.DLL file (or it's equivalent) I'll never get the DMC++ command-line tools to integrate properly.

I do not think I every really used 7.21's IDDE.
The 7.5 IDDE requires a SCD.DLL which invokes SCPPND.DLL as far as I know...
There is even an SMAKEND.DLL (probably the .DLL version of SMAKE.EXE). But I haven't figured that one out completely yet.
The DMC command-line tools work besides the IDDE, but not with the IDDE.

Darn, sounds like the IDDE includes some sort of DLL version of the compiler & upgrading the command-line tools won't help. Oh well, back to my trusty UltraEdit32 & running the command-line utilities from the Tools menu...thanks anyway.
