Since Walter recently mentioned that he would be willing the "draw a mark in sand" and put D v1.0 out (13.Dec.05 http://www.digitalmars.com/drn-bin/wwwnews?digitalmars.D.announce/2111), and he even agreed that two forks would be created once D v1.0 was released...one for D v1.0 bug fixes, and the other for new improvements to the D language (15.Dec.2005 http://www.digitalmars.com/drn-bin/wwwnews?digitalmars.D.announce/2165). Plus since D is also known as Mars as well, that it would be kool if the release date was on a some-what historic mark in the sand. Say, on a Martian New Year...which just happen to be coming up on the 21st of January 2006 or the 1st sol (day) of Sagittarius (month) 211 (year) when using a Darian Calendar date (http://pweb.jps.net/~tgangale/mars/converter/calendar_clock.htm).

Just an idea, and dreaming out loud.

How about it Walter? <g>
