I'm new to coding on a machine running Windows. So I downloaded digital mars and unzipped it the traditional windows way. Do I still need to go to {start] [run] unzip dm???c ?

Also, how do I actually compile something. I have created a simple hello.c file in notepad. How would I go about running this?

Not if you've already unzipped it.
Question is , do you like where you unzipped it?

I am using v8.49 which contained a readme.html amongst the unzipped files?
Check into that with your browser.
There you will find the answers to your questions including setting your path.
