What's the status of the DUI/gtkD project?

Anyone using it?

Any active development?

It works, and had some traffic a little while back; I posted a dsss.conf to build the examples in one of the other newsgroups a while back. Haven't touched it in a while though.

That said, even the GL gtk was working fine when I tried it last, so it's probably in good shape now.

What version of GTK is it based on? Is it 2.0?

I'm not sure of the specific version the current version is based upon, but it is gtk2, yeah; GtkTreeView and such are there.

If you want Gtk *bindings* only, then bcd.gen may be the way to go, as it even comes with such (at least in the source package).
