Once upon a time, there were instructions linked from the DMD download page explaining how to install from the zip file on each platform. I can't find anything about it now, not from dlang.org or from the wiki. Is it still out there somewhere? I need a page to point people at.

I'd just tell them to unzip it wherever they wanted it and add the bin directory for their platform for it to their PATH. As I recall, that's all that's required to get it to work.

As for the page in question, it looks like it was probably lost in the site redesign.

Yes, that's about all I can do without that page to link to.

Looks like the same can be said for the page that used to give details about the compiler command line options.

I think that it was the same page, though I could be remembering wrong. Several articles are missing as well (e.g. the one on std.datetime and the one on arrays), so I don't know how careful they really were in updating the website.

The pages are still there, they're just not linked from anywhere (except for the sitemap). I don't know what happened.

On dmd (installation, flags, etc):
http://dlang.org/dmd-linux.html
http://dlang.org/dmd-windows.html
http://dlang.org/dmd-osx.html
http://dlang.org/dmd-freebsd.html

"Introduction to std.datetime":
http://dlang.org/intro-to-datetime.html

"D Slices":
http://dlang.org/d-array-article.html
