I wish I'd asked for the mic before I made the (inaudible) comment about signedness, so here it is:

Subtracting unsigneds is almost always a bug. The problem (realised by the C++ community) is that length should be signed.

Just finished watching this talk for the second time, as I was distracted by IRC when watching the livestream.  Good talk, though not as great as last year's from Don, which was the best one given at DConf 2013.  This quote struck me when watching live, from the 40:35 mark of the video, and really needs to go up on the front page of dlang.org:

"Our infrastructure costs are 4X lower than the rest of our industry."

I can't think of a better marketing line than that.
