Hello,
I'm sreejith. I want to join the group. I am a student
who has just completed my B-Tech course in Computer Science and Engg. from
India and preparing to go for higher studies. I've heard about this news
group from Ben Woodhead. I've made a new GCC front end for
Shakespeare. It was made using a document by Tim Josling. I am not so
thorough with GCC. The front end I made was a small one, capable of
manipulating only integers, and few constructs like assignments, goto
etc. I am very much interested with this project. I've gone through the
site of d language. I have to be thorough with the front end. So I'm
preparing to learn the C front end. I hope to get some advice from
experts in this field so that I can understand in which direction to
proceed. I hope to help you in this project in my own small ways.

Yours sincerely,
Sreejith K Menon.

Hi Sreejith from India!
We certainly are beginning to build an international team here! Great!
Well, I guess for starters you could download the .tar.gz files as they exist
on the site. See if you do understand my rather cryptic instructions and are
able to actually compile everything. Once you're there I think the next step
is figuring out which of the many 'stub function/members' will have to be
implemented and interfaced to GCC. This is basically where I am at in the
process. I have not done much more than that and browsing/reading the GCC
stuff.
Once you think you know where we are and have something that the project would
benefit from, let me know as you should have CVS access before that to be able
to commit changes.

Thanks!
Jan
