Is there more pre dsource version control history for dmd?
It often complicates understanding that changes were added as "dmd 2.026"
batches.

I have a very little bit of history, from before that time. But it's
only about five more commits, and only back to about 2.020.
(comes from zip files that Walter posted to me). I also have a
repository with my early contributions.
Unfortunately it's not very much use.
