I'd decided the other day to wait for mixins, partly because I think releasing a half-cooked thing will be counter-productive, and partly because I have a pressure of other things at the moment, and doing two lots of release management/testing/etc. was just not justifiable.

At the time, my impression from Walter was that mixins was very close. However, I've just learned that it'll be a while.

Hence, I would think that DTL 0.X will not happen this week (10th+), but I'm
hoping next week (17th+) it will.

Cheers

Matthew

It has been a long time since that post.
Whats the current status of DTL? I'd really like to start testing it ;-)

I'm doing a Walter, and stuck behind a number of pressing commitments - my CUJ column, STLSoft release, some work for a client, preparation of the "Imperfect C++' CD, etc. June's going to a bit of a terrible month

I've been held up for the last few weeks with a bug in the generated code, and haven't been able to spend the requisite block of time to pare it down to a Walter-acceptable example. I hope to be able to do that during the next week or so, in which case I'll release an initial version.

Once the July 1st deadline has gone, however, my life will simplify enormously and I expect to make very significant progress on DTL, and some other D things that I'm cooking up with big W.

Any chance you could take advantage of community's (including mine) help? People make their projects depend on DTL and expect it! And i think the issue is not one or another detail, but the general library look and feel.

Don't call it a release, call it a preview for the brave souls!

Yes! A preview would be great!

I had a slight, needed, extension on the Imperfect C++ CD, to the 12th July. Expect the preview before the end of next week, for sure!

And, yes, I will be looking for input. Lots of it!! :)

Ever heard of vaporware?
Start your own!
The community already showed interest on this project.

Matthew already lost you a month or two...
now it's the 12th... if he was honest about it he would have
tell us before now.

I'd better leave that to Matthew, since i had already been teasing around with a huge piece of vaporware. :)

I'm against duplicate effort, i'm by far not as good as him, and finally i definately lack of time to take on such a big project. Helping out is easier.
