The comment is shown as originating from me, which as you can see is not the case.

About this %u thing, I think it's a problem with the new newsgroups UI: check all messages sent by "%u", and you'll find that User-Agent is "PHP News Reader v2.6.4 (CDSHEEN)"

I think it's just the default user name, e.i. if someone forgets to change the user name, that show up as %u
