Maybe the color PDF will be another collectors item ;-)

We have a winner! The first person to report getting a NON-collector's edition! (for the time being, you have the less common version :)

Hi,

I've been lurking here for a while and finally decided to join and say hello and thank Andrei for his book.
I received mine on yesterday from Amazon.fr and everything I have been reading so far is really great !
Oh, and I am glad to know I am the lucky owner of a collector edition book too !

we only get 45 days free access to the download, so I hope they allow a colour version soon.

I received my collector's edition yesterday, and I'm telling you, with all this hype, it had better be worth something in 40 years' time. ;) I got it just in time, too. I'm going to Canada for a conference tomorrow, and it'll be perfect reading material during the long flight across the Atlantic.

I've read the first two chapters already, and I have to say it's a thoroughly enjoyable read. The examples are good, the colloquial style makes the material more interesting (as if it wasn't interesting to begin with!), and the rapid-fire puns are delivered in style. ;) Well done!

Strangely enough, the InformIT pre-purchase print books haven't shipped yet, the book is still listed as in Rough Cut status. Wonder how much longer it will take.

When I bought mine it still said rough cut, but I received the collector's edition.

You got yours already? That's odd.
Hum, I checked the InformIT again, search for TDPL, and there are two "books" listed, the roughs cuts, and final one. That's odd, only the final one should appear. Do you know which one you purchased, are you sure it was the rough cuts?

Yeey! Got mine after 3+ weeks of waiting, and a 'collector's edition' no less!
