I did all interview for my current job in D. I like how that comic can be understood in different ways, this is smart and funny.

No, I didn't miss the joke, but I was tyring to say that in 5-10 years we'll still be asking "Do you know C++?" instead of "Do you know D?". At the moment nobody is hiring D programmers. Besides, if D was as popular as Java or C++, then the joke wouldn't be as funny.

I think you missed the joke too, but my response wasn't to you, it was to Jesse and Jacob.
I think it's even possible the comic's author never heard of D.
