as the title says, I'm looking for a job opportunity in the USA (H1B visa sponsorship required).

I'm experienced Software Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the security and investigations industry. Skilled in C, C++, D, C#, SQL, Object-Oriented Programming, Software Development and Electrical Engineering. Strong engineering professional with willingness to further education.

Actually I work as a full stack ASP.NET developer for SolarWinds in Brno (Czechia).

This is news to me, and I live in the US. Also, if the US is collapsing, that is very bad news for D, seeing as how I live about 45 minutes from Walter, and Andrei lives in the US as well.

To get an H1B you'll want to get a job with one of the majors. Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon. There are smaller companies, but the majors have a dedicated team of lawyers who can guide your H1B through the process. It is the consulting body-shops are bearing the brunt of the crackdown. Much to the rejoicing of the H1B's on my team. Second, getting a green card for an H1B is easily a 10 year wait. You'll be in for the long-haul. :)

None of these companies are looking for employees without working visa in the US. Mostly, they have branch offices in EU, so if I apply for a job, they will hire me in one of the EU offices.

But thanks for the advice, I'll apply for some job opportunities at these companies and try my best.

The reason for that is actually a quirk of the US visa regime. Look up the L1. It's less restrictive. But it requires you work for one year outside the country.

btw. I read somewhere that this forum software can't delete threads. That sounds pretty silly. Even sillier if it's true.

You could ask someone to volunteer, to waste their time policing the threads, looking for off topic discussions, and then delete them, or maybe have some facility to mark them for automatic deletion with a period of time...or something.

The forum software is a frontend for a newsgroup server, which also backs a mailing list. Although it would be possible to add a feature to delete posts from the local cache the forum uses, it wouldn't be something that could be synced across the other interfaces. Editing is tricky to implement, too.

And because we don't have moderators or require accounts, it's been longstanding policy here that we're on the honor system with our posts posts. In order to maintain a healthy environment and avoid toxic flamewars, politics and religion are discouraged as topics of discussion.

Thanks everyone for your advices and helping me with finding job in the US. I applied for about 300 jobs at companies like Apple, M$, Amazon, Google, etc. and got one offer in Canada, so it's half-win for me. :)

Because our forum here is better and faster than any of the various forum software we looked at. It's also customized to our particular preferences and needs.

I enjoy arguing about politics myself, but not here. I recommend using reddit for politics.

It's not true, despite what Mike said earlier.  For example, there was clear commercial spam posted to the Announce newsgroup earlier this month, which I and others noted at the time, and that entire thread has been deleted from the forum but not from the mailing list archive:

Also, many posts in this forum thread were similarly deleted.  Of course, emails sent out to the mailing list cannot be unsent, whereas I'm not sure what's done on the D newsgroup as I've never used it.  It has been said that you shouldn't respond to such spam posts, but my guess is that's only to make it easier to remove the thread, by not having to hunt down all the replies or something.

I agree that if Walter is the one moderating the forum, as appears to be the case, there's got to be some other way of doing it, as that cannot be the best use of his time.
