Instead, I have an NNTP "account" in Thunderbird: www.digitalmars.com port: 119 Once that account was added, I had "subscribed" to some of the newsgroups. > ------------------ > This feed does not validate. > > line 868, column 136: XML parsing error: <unknown>:868:136: > reference to invalid character number [help] > > ... an>On 2018-05-22 18:34:34 +0000, Ali ‡ehreli said: The source of the same message looks like this for me in Thunderbird: From: =?UTF-8?Q?Ali_=c3=87ehreli?= <acehreli@yahoo.com> I did not set that manually; either Thunderbird or my Yahoo account (which is my default SMTP account) must have done it. How do the newsgroups match to the forum categories (on the left here in the forum), or specifically, what is the newsgroup for 'general' for example? > The source of the same message looks like this for me in Thunderbird: > > From: =?UTF-8?Q?Ali_=c3=87ehreli?= <acehreli@yahoo.com> > > I did not set that manually; either Thunderbird or my Yahoo account (which is my default SMTP account) must have done it. And I think the feed would work again, since the validator doesn't show the parsing error anymore. |

One thing you can do via NNTP which you can't do via feeds is post and reply :) > How do the newsgroups match to the forum categories (on the left here in the forum), or specifically, what is the newsgroup for 'general' for example? To access mailing lists with an email/news client, like Thunderbird, you will need to subscribe to them, e.g. at: http://lists.puremagic.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/phobos Unfortunately there is no way to download the archives for local browsing, only new messages will be delivered to your inbox. Replying to them is the same as replying to an email. |
