My friend Ruslan wrote pretty big doc for D-noobs about using D.
It's pretty much inspired by Ali book (thanks Ali!) but not so big. I hope that doc will help to newcomers  to start programming.

P.S. the work on dlang.ru is not stop. We done huge refactoring of engine, but now our programmer again have not free time. But I keep hand on pulse.
