That's good to hear as for someone that's just (at this stage) lurking around on this mailinglist it's easy to get a very different impression based on the type of discussions.

Well it's a dev forum. I'm sure it's easy to get that impression, since almost all discussion is about things that are broken and people are working on, or ideas for improvement ;)
