I've got Alexander Klinsky's PDF conversion of the D language specification. It is really beautiful.

Even as a snapshot it would be of good use for many.

I've uploaded the DOC and PDF so you can take a look
at it:
   <http://www.prowiki.org/upload/HelmutLeitner/D%20Programming%20Language.pdf>
   <http://www.prowiki.org/upload/HelmutLeitner/D%20Programming%20Language.doc>

If we can manage to maintain it without burden Walter
with the work, it would be good.

Can we use it (Walter? Copyright?)?
Should there be a note (Snapshot, may be not up to date)?

Yeah, PDF looks great, but any chance of bookmarked version? Or with hyperlinks?

Yes.

Yes. Give a date on the snapshot, and have a caveat about checking www.digitalmars.com/d/ for latest.

I think I'll try to install a Perl/wget/diff/changelog system
as you suggested. But I'm short on time, so it may take 5-10 days
to have it. Hope to connect it to the wiki, so anyone may access
the changelog diffs.

Could you hold any changes to the specs for a while?

What do you mean by "bookmarked"?
A table of content?
Links to the original HTML-pages?

There is a tab "Bookmarks" on the left of Acrobat Reader. It contains list of bookmarks (it often is simply table of contents) and allows to go to corresponding page when bookmark is pressed.

In Intel documentation it is very useful thing.

all right.

It is truly too bad that .PDF doesn't have hyperlinks. Even a navigable table of contents and index would be terrific.

It does look nice, though. Nice layout. Nice organizational structure.

Dear All !

I will have a talk to our documentation people and see if they an help me. I
think it is possible to convert an
outlined Word-Document out of the box into a PDF with a TOC etc. using Adobe
Acrobat 5.0.

This is a version including toc
   <http://www.prowiki.org/upload/HelmutLeitner/D%20Programming%20Language2.pdf>

I prepared it using Acrobat 4.0 where a bookmarks/toc pane is created by my defaults. It looks identical although it's 115 KB smaller.
