The 16 bit IDDE (SCWMN16.EXE) keeps on saying "Cannot create DOS application window" again & again: on loading a project, on finishing the compilation, on running a program. It also does not allow starting of debugging due to this error.

As I usually use makefiles only, I had not noticed whether this is happening
for CD832 only, or was present for earlier versions.

hi

It remind me something but i don't remember how i turned around this.

Do you want to try something ?

download the DOSBOX.EXE and the DOSBOX link attached and put them in DM\BIN !! Let or Set DOSBOX.EXE read only !!

now try, there is a chance it works now: no garantee.

good luck

roland

note 1:
if there is a virus in the DOSBOX.EXE i send, it is dated before 1999
and wasn't already detected ..

note 2:

unable to atach DOSBOX.PIF: my @#ç~& Netscape transform it in DOSBOX.EXE I think the properties are important. If it does not work try to change your DOSBOX.EXE properties

note 3: i work on Win 98

Thanks for the help.
Yes, this problem occurs only with Win98, I have verified that there is no
problem with XP. But under XP, IDDE can't debug 16 bit DOS/X apps.
I have the same DOSBOX.EXE file. Changing it to 'read-only' and trying out
different parameters for its PIF did not work.
BTW, it opens a dos app (which shows SCWRMVDD.EXE) and that remains open
throughout. Closing it has no effect.
Anything else to try?

i don't remember who is the Dos Application Windows program. Can be SCWRMVDD.EXE not DOSBOX.EXE, sorry.

- try VGA mode ? (you have to destroy your superb super 3D Video Card on
the control panel and prevent Windows from reinstalling it when restarting .. )
- try to debug a text only program ?
- if you can open the debug application Windows set it full screen (Alt-Return) and retry ?

That is kind of thing i could have done in the same situation. no
garanties, may be silly sugestions ..
