digital mars C++ on windows xp

i had previously been able to install symantec C++ 7.5 on my windows xp then
overcopied that with digital mars 8.25.
i am now unable to do that as i get prompted with 'wrong disk' or something
similar and the installation aborts. can anyone advice ?

Kinda difficult to tell, but the files on your hardisk might be read-only.
