Hello again. I asked a couple questions about 3 to 4 weeks ago, and it seems no one else has been here since. I am guessing visits to this newsgroup are very few and very far between. I see questions about crashing that do not appear to have been answered yet, and those were well before I posted here. Is this like Steel Panthers? That was a DOS based game that was "supposed" to have been remade for windows as well. Nothing but system crashes for that, and this Empire version is doing the same for me. Are these things released before they are debugged, or am I just computer stupid? With instructions in technical terms I can not understand, and any possible answers (from the newsgroup anyway) being too few and far between, I can't see the use in continuing to come here hoping someone has seen and answered a question. Maybe thier is another (busier) site like this?

Are you using the C version of Empire for Windows? I haven't had any problems with it. The text/curses based version is still available as well.

The game isn't undergoing active development, but enthusiasts with some time on their hands might be willing to work on things a bit. The "time on their hands" bit doesn't include me, unfortunately.

Which questions about crashing? The only one I see at the moment is "Windows XP crashes", in which there was no reply to my reply.

I don't know how well the various versions work, but my bug-fixed version ("Stewart's D version" in the navigation column) works well for me. It needs to be updated to current D though - I just need to send Walter an updated version to put on the site.

What OS version are you using?

Maybe if you can clarify which instructions you're talking about, then we can help you.

Stewart.
