    I am running Perl's CPAN, which wants to compile some C stuff. Here:

c:\>cpan install Date::Calc

    It calls nmake which calls cl.exe. I am using Microsoft's nmake obtained from ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/Softlib/MSLFILES/nmake15.exe and Digital mars' cl.exe.

    At one point I get this error:

        cl -c    -nologo -GF -W3 -MD -Zi -DNDEBUG -O1 -DWIN32 -D_CONSOLE -DNO_ST
RICT -DHAVE_DES_FCRYPT -DNO_HASH_SEED -DUSE_SITECUSTOMIZE -DPERL_IMPLICIT_CONTEX
T -DPERL_IMPLICIT_SYS -DUSE_PERLIO -DPERL_MSVCRT_READFIX -MD -Zi -DNDEBUG -O1
 -DVERSION=\"6.4\"  -DXS_VERSION=\"6.4\"  "-IC:\Perl\lib\CORE" BitVector.c
Error: unrecognized flag '-GF'
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe' : return code '0x1'
Stop.
  C:\bin\nmake.EXE  -- NOT OK

    Is there a way to have cl.exe support the -GF flag?

    Thanks,

Sure. Get the sources of it and modify it to ignore this flag.
