I just started messing around with D on Ubuntu 8.04 x64. Of course, I just installed GDC using Synaptic Package manager, and therefore, got gdc 4.2, which is what I think most people would do.

The problem is, GDC 4.2 causes a segmentation fault with all but the simplest calls to writefln. You need to use GDC 4.1 where it seems to work fine.

I just wanted to document this problem and solution here so others new to D will see it.
