There's a workaround/patch on the bugtracker.

The bug was reported in *early 2007*.

Just thought I'd bring some attention to it, because it _needs_ fixing. Urgently.

I would love for this to be fixed.  If it were achievable in library code I'd have done it ages ago for Tango.
