He told you that, he's tried with 1.037
You can try out 1.037 firstly, and confirm it.

The "if(a == 0) return" lines are there.  It doesn't matter whether I comment them or not, it still works correctly.

Maybe it's a platform-specific issue?  I'm on Windows.
