Pick one and stick with it. That is all I would suggest.
If someone takes major offense to it, they could alias it to their preference, right? I've been dabbling with Objective-C while waiting for the DMD/GDC/LDC thunking to end, so my D is getting slightly rusty.

Not really, because these names will be used as members of hundreds of
different user-created range structs.
There's no way to make a generic alias for a member of even one struct
let alone hundreds of different ones.

I also like head and last due to its establishment in the FP community; I didn't count my vote in because "we" wouldn't have won anyway.
