Survey results: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1F6oELZcO_ejX2oVk20hmiBWd4lQugfFahn7OOOOyKsw/preview# Maybe we should do a D survey? For Rust, D is even mentioned. For the question "What programming languages are you most comfortable with?" 68 of 3085 people selected D. An interesting fact "currently 19.8% use Rust at work either part-time or full-time". That is 395 of 1994 people. |

People who use it at work are more likely to respond.

Yes, sadly sampling bias is a thing.
Would participate in survey, sounds fun.

Yes, this would be interesting to have the picture. > For Rust, D is even mentioned. For the question "What programming languages are you most comfortable with?" 68 of 3085 people selected D. 1666 ppl selected Python. For the same Q in the D community I wouldn't be surprised to see something like, let's say, at least 40%, because Python is quoted really often everywhere in the forum or in the bug tracker. > An interesting fact "currently 19.8% use Rust at work either part-time or full-time". Now that Python has won over Ruby [0], it is the dominant scripting language. [0] https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=python%20language%2C%20ruby%20language&cmpt=q&tz=Etc%2FGMT-2 |
