Hi folks,

At this point we don't have enough submissions to make DConf 2015 viable. Those we have are of good quality, but simply put more are needed.

We're counting on our core community (i.e. frequent contributors to this forum) to both participate and spread the news about the conference.

The call for submissions closes at the end of day of February 27 (this coming Friday).

Speakers get travel reimbursement. If you are using D and have something interesting to share, a DConf 2015 submission is the single best thing to do for D and its community.

Thanks,

Andrei

I'm still thinking about mine. But it is pretty much done.

I could prolly do two talks... especially if someone else wants to suggest a topic. Heck, I could improvise in a round table or something too.

A round table could be fun. We'd just have to find a sufficiently subtle troll to moderate it and a list of topics.

I'm interested in being in on a round table as well.

An interesting topic could definitely be web development in D. Could bring up issues all the way to CTFE'ing templates.

I'll add that a LOT of you are working on projects that are of great interest to the community. A presentation at DConf is a great way to get the word out about it.

We're also interested in case histories of using D at work.

Indeed. I'd prolly be the boring conservative in that bunch, my web libs don't do anything special... except get the job done!

But this is a pretty good idea a lot of us could do. We don't even strictly need a topic list, we could take callers or like twitter questions and crap like that.

From my experience, that is better than most code out there :)

Yes exactly. Just letting a group of people talk about, based upon some input could lead to some very interesting discussions.
Perhaps we could get some UTU students involved with it? Even if they are not terribly interested in D, it would provide excellent input.
