No, the presentation was not recorded as the speaker could not connect to my YouTube Live Hangouts on Air link; his connection attempts timed out. (Others could connect to it.)

Luckily, we could connect to a Google Hangouts that Nic started, and that's how we saw him.

Conclusion: Nothing beats being there in person or being able to connect as it rolls.
