Hi,

At this URL:

http://bylands.dur.ac.uk/~mh/gdc-i686-1e.tar.bz2

is a compiled version of gdc release 1e. Extract it into /opt, and then add /opt/gdc/bin to your path. You should now be able to compile D apps, with Phobos access.

These binaries have been built in a way that should ensure they work on all distros. If they don't work on yours (and you are on an x86 architecture) I'd like to know about it.

thanks -mike

It would be interesting to test gdc on cygwin and/or mingw. Is it
possible to make binaries for those?

Yes, it might be, I have a cross compiler setup here. At the moment I have other priorities though, D is just a bit-on-the-side plaything for me currently :)
