Looking at the General forum just now, I noticed that for Walter's "Avoiding code smells" thread, last post is reported as made by Walter 6 hours ago:

And yet, when clicking that last post link, his post appears at the top, but there are obviously more posts made after that:

What gives?

It was originally posted to announce but somehow ended up in general as well.
Why or how I have no idea.

Because H.S. Teoh replied to a thread in announce, but for some reason posted it to the general group.

The newsgroup stores which messages are in reply to which threads, and when I click on that link, it brings me to the announce forum post. So I think this confuses the web interface.
