It got asked on reddit sub but for those that aren't active too, I'd like you opinions. Please don't get me wrong, I also love D, I've used it everywhere I can and I'd say it's my favourite language (yes I have one...) but I'm as as the reddit's OP, trying to understand why it's unpopular. Rust and Go seeming to be getting more and more users. I think it's due to large ecosystem and the big corporations with deep pockets that pushes them. But I'd like to know you all opinions

Its a c++ replacement not a c one; when the world needs a c replacement

(Rust is killing firefox and every major project it touches; go is probably to simple)

This is a manipulation tactic. If I post on the Rust forum "Why is D more productive than Rust?", it gives the impression of being a fact without the need of a proof.

He's not a bot, that's for sure(he's also there on Discord where we interact regularly)

He most likely chose to remove the link and just quote the post in it's entirety.

Did you see the original post?

He posted 2 times in a row, on the second time he replied his own post (Now deleted) but changing the reddit link to another one, which was something like this:

Please don't get me wrong, I also love D, I've used it everywhere I can and I'd say it's my favourite language (yes I have one...) but I'm as as the https://************.win reddit's OP,, trying to understand why it's unpopular. Attention to:

I'm using "*" to not promote his site again, which was about an app for video stream from some corporation.

If he is not a bot, then he is a spammer. And why create a new thread and re-post almost the same text from November 02 and why putting a link to video streaming?

Hmm, the link sure doesn't sound like monkyyy, dude's an anarchist, he's the last to promote some corporation's product

I'll leave him to defend himself, but AFAIK monkyyy is a legitimate (enthusiast-level)user of D

No, I don't believe that's the case. There's an issue where sometimes replies end up creating a new thread in the forums. Validimir explained the cause in a post here in the past, but I can't recall the details. And anyway, looks like that's really monkyyy.

Hi Mike and Teja, just to be clear I was **NOT** talking about "monkyyy".

Since this thread is crippled because of deletions of the first 2 posts, It's hard to explain, but I'll try:

Before "monkyyy's" post there was 2 topics in sequence created by "spice agent", where he replied himself adding a link to some weird site as I explained here: (https://forum.dlang.org/post/dpcxmbstkmajukyncdsy@forum.dlang.org)

Like I said, if "spice agent" is not a bot then he is a spammer. Because why create or reply a thread from November 02 TWICE in row, and why REPLACING a link from reddit to video streaming app?

I see. I missed that. So whoever deleted spice agent's posts probably put them on the ban list.

I don't think he's a bot.

It's actually a fairly common question I've seen a lot in the past decade.
