December 20, 2015 [OT] Safe native code with C# in Microsoft's Midori OS

Hello, Joe Duffy just published another Midori article, how they have written the OS in an extended version of C#, which started as part of the Singularity OS. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=10766436 Interesting read, specially since many of the learned lessons are now coming to the standard version of C# and driving new features like .NET Native, CoreCLR and some of the already announced C# 7 ones. Also, maybe some learnings that could help improve D. -- Paulo

"I hate to say it, but doing great at all of these things is "table stakes." Back in the mid-2000s, we had to write everything by hand. Thankfully, these days you can get an awesome off-the-shelf optimizing compiler like LLVM that has most of these things already battle tested, ready to go, and ready for you to help improve."
cough.
