For all us new users, I thought I would let folks know that at this date, I experienced this problem, too. Unfortunately, setting the library path (on the tab Project: Settings: Directory) did not fix the problem for me. I placed fully specified paths for both dm/LIB and dm/mfc/LIB, but this did not resolve the problem. Nor did specifying all the include paths (same tab).
I am running Win98. What did fix the problem finally, was setting the Platform field to Windows NT on the tab Project: Target.
Are there any other readers out there? I came to this product after wasting a bunch(!) of time in the latest version of Borland's C++ Builder. I would be interested in hearing the projects currently using this software.

Indeed, I had to adjust the library path.
Thanks for the hint.
