Can we (or possibly just me, I don't see many D fans running linux/ppc) expect to see dmd compiled for linux/ppc, or just the powerpc architecture in general any time soon? While I appreciate the effort going on with gdc, I'd like to have a perpetually up-to-date version of D available. Having just tossed my windows box, I'm simply dying without D. Regards, Alex |

I'm afraid, unless someone wants to write a ppc code generator, or is willing to fund hiring a person to do it, that isn't going to happen in the near future. |

Providing customizable back-ends to DMD would prove very useful. Even just a C-code output back-end would be immensely useful for porting to other architectures. -- Regards, James Dunne |
