I've started a new series on our YouTube channel that I'm calling 'D Community Q & A Sessions'. These are short sessions focused on specific topics.

For the inaugural episode, Razvan and Dennis joined me to talk about their roles as the foundation's Pull Request and Issue managers. I did go a little off topic at the end, though, when I asked what they're most looking forward to about DConf '22.

I expect to publish several sessions with Walter. The first will be coming next month.

Very nice!!!

Even though vision documents aren't(again) a thing yet, I feel this is a good enough substitute atleast for the short/medium term, since atleast the present will be communicated precisely to us, if not the future :)

I've promised the vision document will be here before DConf, and it will. I know people are waiting on it, but I've had several other things to do that I've given higher priority (it's not, as Max suggested elsewhere, that I'm a perfectionist, just that I'm busy). That's going to change soon. At our May meeting (the summary for which I need to post in the next day or two) we agreed that the vision document will be the subject of our June meeting. I'll bring the current draft for feedback. After the meeting, I'll start working toward the final draft. I hope to have it ready by late June or early July.

Very nice thing to do and show some engagement with community.

There is no subtitle available (Auto-translate), is this because some configuration on the video or is this just a youtube problem?

And by the way the opening reminds me one of those TV News, interesting.

YouTube's subtitle screen says it can take a while for the automatic subtitles to be generated.

Wow, by the maturity Dennis reflects in the forums/GH I was surprised he is this young!

Hey Mike,
It's a nice idea to present the people behind the internet nickname.

I think it is great to invite two people as you did, instead of interviewing just one person. But it'd be more interesting to watch if you make it a real conversation between 3 people, instead of just question-answer.

cheers,
Johan

Thanks!

I plan to do some longform discussions like that (pairs and groups), and it will be a different playlist (D Community Conversations). I used this format here because I wanted something different than the DConf Online Q & A videos we've already published. The intent for these is that they stay short and tightly focused. Plus, they're much less of a time investment!

I'll be rolling out a few different things on YouTube in the coming months.
