A group of senior undergradute students currently give lectures on D to a professor in the field of programming languages and compilers:

Particular attention is paid to the enhancements and improvements compared to C++.

Mr Nowak, thanks for the information! This is exactly the kind of information I wanted to see/hear/read, regarding the D programming language. If D enters universities it will definitely secure it's future, and boost popularity. I am planing to do exactly the same next year, on King's College London (http://www.kcl.ac.uk).

Kind regards

Dejan

Hi,

Please post to this list in English, because not everyone here
understands German.

I don't mind if people post in other languages. If they do, however, it's pretty obvious that only a subset of people here will read their posts.

As for me, I know enough german to be able to order beer and do a little swearing, but that's it <g>.

As it seems there is no chair for programming languages or for compilers at the university of ulm. Therefore the chance is close to zero, that at the university of ulm a seminar on D programming will take place in the near future.

I got the tone of my post wrong, didn't mean to sound angry although
re-reading it sure makes it look angry...

Well, I suppose that is the danger of pure text communication, dropping
all the secondary comm channels: A blink, a quick smile, whatever...

O RLY?
Still: Those may be plain forgotten, as you have to will them explicitly.
And even as they improve the situation, they're still not the real thing.
