I don't remember seeing this formally announced yet. So I'll announce it myself. I noticed that "TobiasWassermann" edited the DocComments/Intro page at Wiki4D (http://www.prowiki.org/wiki4d/wiki.cgi?DocComments/Intro) to make an announcement of sorts: "In November a german D-Book will be released. Can you put it on the intro page beside the advice for the japanese book? The title will be "Programmieren in D", ISBN: 978-3939084693". I found the book listed at Amazon.de: http://www.amazon.de/Programmieren-D-Tobias-Wassermann/dp/3939084697 Here's some German from that page (which I don't know how to read)... And an English translation (by Google Translate)... Product descriptions: Short description The language D brings the advantages together of C, C++, C#, Java and other languages - does thereby however without the faults. D can quite hand the water with the performance C and has thereby some interesting features, which do not offer other languages. If you already know C, Java or C#, you can work with this new language more effectively. The available book is thereby transferred facilitates and in two to three Umsteigerkapiteln on the existing knowledge to touch down. Over the author Tobias water man is software developer in different industries and system administrator for Linux and Windows servers. It wrote already different articles for to developers the magazine and specialized books. Christian Speer is software developer in the Multi Media range and administered Linux server for different projects. It always sets new techniques, why also the contact came to D to conditions. |

Just to be clear: the above is a different book, written by Manfred Hansen and counting 140 pages. The book on Amazon is written by Tobias Wassermann and Christian Speer, counting 230 pages.

Posted in reply to jcc7 | Thanks for the announcement. I think, the publisher will also bring out a translated english version of the book if it sells good in the Germany (and also Austria and Switzerland). Are there any English books about D? (It's quite difficult to search just for D) |
